Starting on September 1, 2009, RIKEN GENESIS Co., Ltd. completed an agreement with StaGen Co., Ltd. for a business tie-up to offer SNP (single nucleotide polymorphisms) genotyping services. StaGen is led by Professor Naoyuki Kamatani of the Tokyo Women's Medical University (former Director of the Institute of Rheumatology, Tokyo Women's Medical University) and is staffed by specialists in the fields of statistics, medicine and information engineering to contribute to personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics from the field of statistical genetics.
This business tie-up gives RIKEN GENESIS access to StaGen's statistical analysis services for SNP genotyping data. Through the tie-up, RIKEN GENESIS will be able to offer fast and efficient genome data analysis services and provide a comprehensive range of services from proposing research designs necessary for genome-wide analysis and candidate gene analysis to SNP genotyping and statistical analysis.
